Gift Giving Opportunities

Gift Giving Opportunities

Your gift to the Children's Home can help make an important difference in the lives of children and families. Whether it is a gift of cash, stock, volunteer hours or hard goods, we appreciate all that you do. Together we can help provide safety, stability and well-being to children and families.

Donations Made Easy

Cash
Cash is the easiest kind of gift to make to the Children's Home, and gifts of cash are tax deductible. (See IRS guidelines for specific information.)

Appreciated Stock
It makes sense to give a gift of appreciated stock, which you have held more than one year, because it generally offers substantial tax savings. If you donate the stock to the Children's Home, you may avoid having to pay capital gains tax. (Contact your attorney or financial planner for details on taxes. Contact us for details on how to make a direct transfer of stock.)

Real Estate
A gift to the Children's Home of real property can offer tax saving. If you make a gift of the property, you may receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property, and you may also avoid having to pay capital gains tax. (Contact your attorney or financial planner for details on making a gift of real estate.)

Life Insurance
You may make a gift of life insurance to the the Children's Home that provides you with a significant tax deduction. This can be done by purchasing a new policy or by donating a policy that you currently own, but no longer need. (Contact your attorney or financial planner for details on making a gift of life insurance.)

Retirement Benefits
You may make a gift to the Children's Home of retirement benefits, thus removing your retirement plan assets from your estate potentiall avoiding some taxes. (Contact your attorney or financial planner for details on making a gift of retirement benefits.)

Wills and Bequests
You may wish to include a bequest to the Children's Home in your will. Your bequest may be tax deductible. Changing a will can be simple and in-expensive. (Contact your attorney for details on making a bequest in your will.)

Hard Goods
We regret that we are not always able to accept donations of used clothing, used furniture and used household items. If you wish to make a donation of gently used items you no longer have a use for, please call first.
We can also use new items, such as books, stationery and personal care items. Give us a call and we would be happy to help you. Needs List
