Isn't it nice to go somewhere when they are expecting you, are prepared for you, and are glad you came? At the Children's Home we prepare for each child's arrival. One way we welcome children is with a box containing personal hygiene items and a small toy. Click here for a list of items you can donate to help us prepare welcome baskets for our children.
The Residential program is family centered, out of home placement for boys and girls ages 7 to 17 who are unable to reside in the community due to the response to the trauma that they have experienced in their lives. Staff works with the children and families to, among other things, help in making good decisions.
One incentive program is our Campus Store. Children can earn points with which they can "buy" items from the store. Click here for a list of items you can donate to the store.
The Haskins Non-Secure Detention Facility is a 12 bed, on-campus facility, that provides a 24-hour, supervised living program for boys and girls. Youth between the ages of 8 and 17 have been remanded from the Broome County Family Court System. Staff gain rapport with the youth using a advocacy/mentor approach, which is based around a privilege/rewards based incentive and level system. They also strive to motivate and teach these youth to make good choices and set goals so that they may become successful.
