Joan Sage Memorial Fund

The Joan Sage Memorial Award was established at the Children's Home on June 25, 2009. Joan Sage, who passed away on February 2, 2009, devoted 23 years of her career in education to the Children's Home - first as a teacher in the Haskin's Non-Secure Detention Program for 11 years and then as a Guidance Counselor in the Education Department for 12 years. Joan also is known as having created the Children's Artwork Calendar.

Through her commitment and dedication, Joan helped students to work to their potential and guided them toward a path of success. The Award will be made annually to a student in our High School Program that has demonstrated a committment to education and desire to succeed. The recipient will be goal oriented with a plan to complete high school and receive a diploma, as well as demonstrate good character by exemplifying the core values of the Children's Home.
