"Melvin" is a 12-year-old boy placed at Ardsley a year and a half ago after being in several unsuccessful foster homes. Following emergency placement at the Shelter, Melvin was placed in a residential setting, because of his past behavior problems. He was referred to Ardsley to attempt a reunification with a sibling.
Melvin's unification was a tremendous success. Despite having to endure many challenges, including his parents' termination of their parental rights, he has continued to perform at the highest level within Ardsley.
The caring, nurturing, family-like environment offered by Ardsley has given Melvin the support he needs.
