The Children's Home has received a grant from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption for $64,000. This grant is dedicated to funding a child focused adoption recruiter for Wendy's Wonderful Kids, a signature program of the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.

The Wendy's Wonderful Kids model is simple and effective: Wendy's restaurants raise funds for the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. The Foundation issues a grant to a local adoption organization that hires an adoption recruiter and implements an aggressive child-specific recruitment program targeted exclusively at placing foster care children in loving, adoptive families. The recruiter must dedicate 100 percent of their workday to this program.

Wendy's Wonderful Kids

For the Children's Home, the adoption recruiter is Linda Pipkin. Linda is a 9 year veteran of the Children's Home and has accomplished 30 adoptions in that time.
